I find joy in creating stories and communicating ideas through prints and patterns by exploring new concepts and trends to embark original ideas into the world. Working with a hybrid of hand painting and digital drawing, I incorporate texture into my work and preserve hand drawn elements to create layer and depth in my designs. Coming from a fine art background in painting and sculpture, I found interest in working with fiber materials and became fascinated in the soft tactile quality yarn that allows for easy manipulation and its versatile application of use in fashion including print, woven, and knit as well as home/interiors, and kitchen.
Now as a textile designer, I am developing a wide range of styles ranging from simple, flat geometrics to elaborate botanical prints. As I continue to explore different mediums to express my interests and love for art and color, I am constantly adapting to new ways of envisioning emerging technologies in sustainable materials into textile prints, wovens, and knits.
